Nonprofit programs set their own rules and may focus on a particular service history, location or need. Confirm the application route, current funding and whether assistance covers equipment directly or contributes to its cost.

State and community resources

General loan and reuse programs may also serve veterans. Do not exclude them simply because their listing is not veteran-specific. Ask whether a family member can collect equipment and what identification is needed.
