Wheelchair Ramp Calculator
Estimate horizontal ramp run from the height you need to rise.
This tool uses a 1:12 reference slope: 12 units of horizontal run for each unit of rise. It is a planning estimate, not a construction plan or a code-compliance assessment.
Allow room beyond the ramp run
Landings, turns, clear width, handrails, edge protection and drainage change the overall footprint. The ADA reference limits rise to 30 inches per run; larger rises need multiple runs and landings. Applicability to a private home depends on local requirements and site conditions. Ask a qualified professional to evaluate the location.
